中國的民主，GNR令人不敢抱持期望的新專輯。一般而言，提到中國的民主，我們會看到的是這樣的闡釋：
不過當這個Title用在一個拖了十餘年沒發片，團員進進出出，主唱偶爾演出水準低落的一個經典金屬樂團的全新大碟上，則是不免讓我擔心專輯內容是否華而不實。
Axl Rose在MTV VMA 2002上的糟糕扮相與氣喘演出。天哪，那是2002年。

"Use Your Illusion I"，這是我認識Guns的開端，而"November Rain"和"Don't Cry"（抒情地切入）則是我小學六年級時開始好奇這番乒乒砰砰的起頭。

直到現在，我和這幾個一同長大，唸書，聽音樂的好友，當有聚會辦在錢櫃的時候，仍會不顧主流系朋友的心情，硬是點上這幾首歌曲。

感受
事實上我在聽到"Chinese Democracy"這首單曲的時候，第一個感覺是，這是GNR的味道沒錯。而這幾年曾經大行其道的Hardcore路線並沒有被媚俗地置入到曲式中，反而是當中運用音效（風聲/人聲/合成器）的方式，吉他鋪陳的邏輯和主唱的口條都相當retro回GNR的氣味。然而我認為和聲的感覺對我而言稍微陌生了，雖然厚實但是欠缺了以往Axl一人足矣的囂張氣燄與說服力，而吉他Solo的部份妖氣不足於我所期待的肆無忌憚；這些感受再再都只說明了我是個活在過去的GNR迷。總之，我說了不算數。
